When it comes to weddings, each season has its pros and cons. Whether it’s the weather, the scenery, color schemes, and even the outfits you wear, it’s very important to pick something that matches the theme and season of that important event. Here, in today’s post, I will be discussing that with you to the extent of knowing what dress codes are there and examples of what to wear.

Dress Codes

White tie

The most detailed and extravagant one to be invited to. This is one that you should look into carefully and follow the dress code exactly. Think royalty, floor length gowns when it comes to this one. No patterns or bright colors. Something with a solid color fabric that won’t make you stand out in the worst possible way.

Black tie

Think of it as a slight step down from a white tie. Floor length modest gowns are still a must, but you can now experiment with a slight pattern, but remain subtle. And no bright colors.

Cocktail

Now it’s time you can really express yourself. The dress can be at any length (midi, maxi, etc.), and the patterns are allowed. Except one thing to remember, no bright colors, or outfits that it worn during the daytime (like sundresses and linen).

Semi-formal/Dressy Casual

Which is the one we’re focusing on today. – Finally, you can wear bright colors. Since it’s during the daytime, flowy light dresses are now allowed. Think of soft fabrics, satin, but nothing too crazy or extravagant. Floral is always a great and safe choice when it comes to semi-formal, with dresses that preferably end at or below the knees. No sneakers or casual clothing that you’d wear day to day, this is still a party where you still need to dress properly.
